The counselling: Wise saying of Solomon: Proverbs chapter 11 verse 14 says this: Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors. There is safety in Hebrew language counsel means “ya`ats (yaw-ats)” this means to advice or to consult. In the book of Isaiah 9:6: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace.
I want to help others because I am gifted for that, very long time as a teenager I used to stay next to the pregnancy women, I remember one day we were renting the flat that was back in DR Congo formally (Zaire) in Kinshasa, so in that building there was a lady who was retting on the opposite flat and then she had a big pregnant. That lady was interested on me and her husband was working from early in the morning and finished late night, that lady had not help “ back home in Africa “ is always different then Europe and America. In that time I was eight to nine years old, I was helping that lady by bringing the water to cook because in Africa we use the cotenant to keep water and I was doing everything for her. When that lady gave a birth “ the baby had my face “ her husband was upset with me, they wanted to take me to the doctor to find if I am able to have sperm but they looked at my age as a young boy with the age of eight to nine, it was impossible. This type of story it happed to me two times.
From this story I understand something, even when I practice to listen to people, even some of my friends they always say that I am very helpful person and my counselling is always good, every time when they explain to me their situations. I learned a lot about being empathy when someone is telling me their story. I had misunderstood about the word compassion and empathy and also how and when to apply them. But from the 09 of October 2010 in the listening session I tried to differenced empathy and compassion, I know understand that empathy I have to express my feelings toward so I can wear the helpee’s problem or other people’ problems for example the lady who I was helping, my feelings was that this lady did not have anybody to help but if I did not help her the child could not be born properly or she was not strong enough to go fetch water and doing house work because of her husband worked hard.
But for the compassion I can understand that I felt pity of that lady and how she became pregnant without any member of her family to help her, let me helped her whenever she needed something I could do that. This was a part of my compassion feelings but in those periods of my past experience I could not to discern that, when I started to attend the BTI counselling skills course and CPCAB. I am not fully qualified but
I became more eager to know what are my gifted skills and experiences.
I will be helping in the area which I have been trained for and many areas as well.
